Privacy Policy
Last updated: December 2024
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Genify Studio (“Genify,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you use our website, applications, and services (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
2. Who We Are & How to Contact Us
Genify Studio is the data controller for personal data processed in connection with the Services, unless stated otherwise. You can contact us at info@genifystudio.com. For security disclosures, please see our Security page.
3. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Account Information: Email, display name, and authentication details you provide, including OAuth identifiers and minimal profile info from providers you connect (e.g., Google). We request only the scopes needed to sign in and secure your account.
- Generated & Uploaded Content: Prompts, outputs, images, audio, videos, 3D files, presets, titles/notes you save, and community posts you publish.
- Voice & Likeness Data (if you use cloning/tts features): Voice samples and metadata you upload to create or manage a cloned voice. You must have the speaker’s permission. See Voice & Likeness Policy.
- Usage Data: Pages visited, feature interactions, generation history, timestamps, approximate region (from IP), and opt-in community activity.
- Diagnostics & Telemetry: Pseudonymous event logs and error reports to troubleshoot issues; these exclude prompt contents unless you include them in a support ticket.
- Payment Data: Purchase history and status provided by our payment processor (e.g., Stripe). We do not store full card numbers.
- Device & Technical Info: Browser type, device type, IP address, language, user-agent, and security signals used to protect accounts and prevent abuse.
- Support Communications: Messages and attachments you send us.
4. Legal Bases (GDPR/UK GDPR)
Where required by law, we rely on:
- Contract: To provide and operate the Services you request.
- Legitimate Interests: To secure, maintain, and improve the Services, prevent abuse, and understand performance.
- Consent: For optional analytics, marketing emails, and voice/likeness processing where applicable.
- Legal Obligations: To meet regulatory or law-enforcement requirements.
5. How We Use Your Data
- Provide, secure, and improve the Services and features you use.
- Process payments and fulfill support requests.
- Surface your saved templates, presets, and library items.
- Send essential service, billing, and security communications (you can manage promotional emails separately).
- Run aggregated, privacy-preserving analytics to understand performance and detect abuse — never for third-party ad targeting.
- Operate voice cloning/tts features when you choose to use them, subject to the Voice & Likeness Policy.
6. Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and protect your sessions. Optional analytics only run if you accept them in our banner. You can revisit choices anytime via the link in our footer. Details are in our Cookies Policy.
7. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share data with:
- Payment processors (e.g., Stripe) to handle billing securely.
- Hosting, storage, and compute providers that run our infrastructure.
- Privacy-preserving analytics and crash-reporting services acting under our instructions.
- Law enforcement or regulators where required by applicable law.
- Vendors and sub-processors listed on our Data & Rights page solely to deliver the Services.
If we undergo a corporate transaction (e.g., merger, acquisition), your information may be transferred where permitted by law and subject to this Policy.
8. International Transfers
We may transfer personal data to countries other than your own (for example, where our cloud providers host systems). Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer period is required by law. Generation logs and telemetry are trimmed or anonymized after 180 days. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see “Your Rights”).
10. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent (e.g., optional analytics, marketing, voice/likeness features). You can:
- Manage cookies via Cookies Policy or the “Privacy controls” link in our footer.
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails via in-email links.
- Request account/data actions by emailing info@genifystudio.com.
If you believe we have not resolved your concern, you may have the right to complain to a supervisory authority in your region.
11. Model Training & Your Data
We do not use your private prompts, uploads, or outputs to train our generative models, unless you explicitly opt-in (for example, by publishing to community galleries or enabling an 'improve models using my content' setting, if offered).
By default, your content is private and excluded from training. You can change this in Account → Privacy Settings at any time.
12. Voice & Likeness
If you upload or generate voice/likeness content, you must have the necessary rights and permissions. We may apply automated and manual checks to prevent misuse and respond to reports. Please review the Voice & Likeness Policy for consent requirements, prohibited uses, and takedown/appeals.
13. Community & IP Reports
For copyright or trademark concerns, see our IP / Notice & Takedown page for how to submit a report or counter-notice. We may remove content or restrict accounts that violate our policies or the law.
14. Children & Minimum Age
The Services are intended for individuals aged 13 and over. Users under 18 must have a parent or guardian's consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us immediately and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
15. Security
We implement technical and organizational measures to safeguard data, including encryption in transit, hardened infrastructure, access controls, and monitoring. No system is completely secure; you are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential. See our Security page for more detail.
16. Third-Party Sign-In (OAuth)
If you choose to sign in with a third-party provider (e.g., Google), we receive basic account identifiers needed to authenticate you. We do not request access to your emails, contacts, or files. You can revoke our access at any time via your provider's account settings. For scope details, see in-product consent screens and our Terms.
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy periodically. Material changes will be notified via the Services or email. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
